Favourite People: Paul Rudd
↳ "I feel horrible. No, really, I feel… ugh. I just realised all I’ve had today, I just ate like a bunch of croissants. I feel weak in the legs. It’s true. I mean, there’s no point to this story, I’m just realising I just had like, four… I just had a bunch of croissants… and now I just feel terrible."

Feminism is having a wardrobe malfunction.
Does your brand of feminism remove barriers for women, or simply move them around? Does is expand options for women, or does it just shift them? You don’t liberate women by forcing them to choose option B instead of option A. What is comfortable for you might not be comfortable for someone else, and it’s entirely possible that what you see as oppressive, other women find comfortable or even downright liberating.
Before you think the girl in the middle is a strawman, let me tell you I used to be her, back in my misguided youth. I considered myself the standard to which other people should adhere. But that was stupid. It’s not up to me to tell people how to dress, and it’s much nicer to let everyone choose for themselves.
Some women would feel naked without a veil. Some women would find it restrictive. Some women would feel restricted by a bra. Some women would feel naked without one. Some women would feel restricted by a tight corset. Others love them. Some wear lots of clothes with a corset. Some only wear the corset and nothing else. What makes any article of clothing oppressive is someone forcing you to wear it. And it’s just as oppressive to force someone not to wear something that they want to wear.
I really like Harry Styles: the way he treats women.
A lot of the time, the way it’s portrayed is that I only see women in a sexual way. But I grew up with just my mum and sister, so I respect women a lot.
#i hear the criticism a lot that harry’s just playing to the cameras #or he’s media trained #or he’s saying what he thinks people want to hear #and while i personally disagree with most of that #at the end of the day i really don’t even fucking care if he means it #i care that he DOES it #i care that he refuses to engage with the premise of those questions #i care that he says the word objectify in an angry way #i care that he’s not another in a long line of male celebrities that goes along with the bullshit #that further underscores to young women that they are a commodity #that they are ornamental #that they are scores on a card #young girls who are watching this don’t know the difference between media savvy and actual humanity #it doesn’t fucking matter to them #it matters that harry styles says that women are not games #it matters that he doesn’t talk about tits and arse #one direction is where it is because of young women #and harry seems to get that #whether or not his interview answers are tongue in cheek doesn’t fucking matter at all #at the end of the day you hear what he’s saying #it matters to the kids watching this #and to the rest of us too (x)
